Camps

Life Change Ministries exists to help children and teens See, Know, and Experience the Lord Jesus Christ in a personal way.

Christian Camping is a major part of LCMI’s ministry to the young people of India and Asia. In order to reach children and teens in a variety of locations, and coming from many different backgrounds, LCMI operates several different types of camps:

Mobile Camps

These 3-day camps are conducted in rural villages and tribal locations. LCMI camp staff travel to remote locations and facilitate camps, reaching out to children and families that live in secluded areas. Mobile camps are conducted year-round in many different locations throughout India and Asia.

Special Needs Camps

LCMI also conducts mobile Special Needs camps in remote areas. The purpose of these 3-day camps is to share the gospel and teach a correct biblical understanding of special needs, while also training families how to care for special needs family members. We as ministry also felt led by the Lord to create a seminar called Hole in the Church to train pastors on how they can incorporate and integrate people with special needs into the life of a church.

Follow-Up

Follow-up is a crucial part of LCMI's ministry, focused on the discipleship of our campers. Follow-up visits are a time when our missionaries on the ground visit the campers who have attended our camps that year and/or the previous year and check up on them. Our mobilizers are present at all these visits. It is our desire to see our campers plugged into a local church, so they are continuing to grow in the Lord and are being discipled. For some campers, these follow-up visits are the only church they will get to be part of and see in action. Our team consisting of our missionaries, mobilizers and counselors, represent the church to these children who find themselves in very difficult circumstances. During these visits, we get to know our campers more personally and they also freely share about what is happening in their lives. By God's grace and your partnership, we are able to conduct follow-up visits throughout the whole year, simultaneously along with the camps and other programs of the LCMI ministry.

We also praise God for enabling us to design, develop and launch an LCMI app in 2020, called “Kaamyaab”, which means “to thrive” through Christ. The resources available through this app are designed to help our campers to thrive and grow in Christ, wherever they are and made available at their fingertips! On the app, our campers can listen to sermons, worship songs and podcasts, read articles on different life topics, submit their prayer requests or questions to our team, look for upcoming events on the ministry calendar and more. It is our prayer that through this app, our campers will thrive indeed in Him. We give God the glory for this wonderful follow-up and discipleship tool.

More Info

At all of our camps, Bible Teaching and Missions Class are the two primary areas of emphasis. In addition to spiritual teaching, we also offer many electives that educate campers in skills that will help them and their families, as well as activities that children everywhere enjoy, such as music, sports, tools and crafts.

We also introduced a self-defense elective in 2020 as an initiative to help equip our girls to defend themselves and train our boys to stand up for them due to growing violence against girls, especially in India. LCMI camps are open to all children who wish to participate. Many of our campers come from poor families, and going to camp gives them an opportunity to hear God’s Word, to be encouraged and loved, and to receive education and benefits that some wouldn’t receive at home, including:

  • Three square meals and snacks every day
  • Life skills training, including lessons for young men and women in basic cooking, managing finances, and other practical skills
  • Preparation for the challenges that teens face every day

At our Special Needs camps, we provide free medical supplies, health and dental exams, vision screening, wellness education, and hygiene training.

For children with disabilities, we provide medical supplies such as wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches.

Our passion and our purpose is to reach children with God’s Word and to lead them into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Christian camping is a powerful way to build relationships and to connect young people in India and across Asia with the Gospel.
